THE PEOPLE'S BOOK PRIZE 2017 - CHILDREN'S SECTION

So I thought, 'Why not give it a go?' Writing that is.
I have. That's what this is.
It's not Shakespeare or Dickens.
It's me. All mine (plus a bit of the dog!)
I'm David J Robertson a year old, (sorry the number lock seems to be broken!), bloke from the Black Country.
What's the plan then?
Well, I've done quite a bit flash fiction bits for various competitions.
There are short stories, again in competition.
There's a children's book completed and published (see Misty's news section) as well as two more in the pipeline - about Misty obviously.
And of course there's the novel. Haven't we all got one somewhere? It unfortunately needs attacking drastically with the red editing pen! A humorous (allegedly) science fiction/ fantasy adventure. I only started it in 2006 so it must be nearly finished by now.
Thursday mornings are taken up with Castle Writers in Dudley - a bit of creative writing never hurt anyone. We also do public readings - see T'owd Pol on the Cut in the flash fiction section, that's been heard more than once.
I did an open mike slot for Writing West Midlands at Birmingham Central Library in June 2015, reading out 'Dear Mum.' See the written word here and now - just click on the side bar.
Oh, and there's the blog to do for this website.
Thanks to Awesome Photography, Dudley for the photo - perhaps I should have had a shave first!
I'm aware that things look a little different according to which platform you are viewing this site on.
For other features, news, stories simply click on the relevant side bar on a laptop/ p.c.
On other platforms you may need to click the three horizontal bars instead to bring up the menu.
