ALL THE FUN OF THE FAYRE.

Misty would like me to tell you about last Sunday - what? Yes I'm doing it now, o.k! - She had her picture taken at Kinver - yes, I'm telling them now - Country Fayre. We were doing a running - oh for heavens sake, go and bark at the postman or something - and jumping demonstration and there was this - o.k. So the postman has already been, bark at the dustbin then - photographer who Misty kept following around. - Yes you did! I know I was holding the lead, you were pulling as usual!
So here are some of the pictures he took.
Picture
Is it a bird, is it a plane? If you look at this in one way it looks like she's lying down - no I know you weren't, I was just trying to explain to the people - but all paws were actually off the ground at this point.
Picture
Yes, this one is far more sedate.
Picture
Does my bum look big in this? - no I know it's not very flattering and no you can't have it airbrushed!

Picture
Smile for the camera. - yes it is a nice one of you, unfortunately the poor bloke was trying to get a picture of Kate before you stuck your oar in.
Picture
I don't know how Milly got in on the act. Perhaps she spoke nicely to be the photographer. Anyway you're not the only dog in the world you know.
No, don't go all sulky again. Really, don't! O.k., go and fetch your lead then. Yes I'll let you bark at the ducks, and we'll take the ball, and find a stick,and...

Well it's taken some time but I think I might have cracked it at last! I've updated the website - if you missed the earlier blog thingy, I've been adding 'Dear Mum', but so far it ain't been too successful.

This is the story that I read out at Birmingham Central Library the other day and I've been adding it the way it should be read, one day at a time. Misty will explain why on the web, I hope!

If you were wondering there are two days left to go.

So, fingers crossed, I'll press the button and see if it works this bloody time!

Well for a start I didn't get the zombie call. Thank the Lord, I'm obviously far too good looking! Hey! There was no need for that. And stop sniggering behind your hand - I can see you!
I did the reading out of the story thing at Birmingham library though. That seemed to go o.k. That is apart from the announcement over the tannoy half way through. 'Please be advised tha the library will close at seven o'clock...'
Excuse me - I'm reading here! Don't know why but I sort of panicked and gabbled a bit after that. Still, it's done now and as a special treat I'm going to load it on the website for you starting on Monday 15th June. I'll do it the way it was meant to be read, one day at a time over five days. So look out for 'Dear Mum.'
Apart from that, still no news on the kids book yet, so just in case it turns out to be successful (all my fingers and toes are crossed) I've started another Misty adventure.
Got to go, there's someone supposed to be coming to build a new fence for us. Can't see it myself, it hasn't stopped pissing down all day, but you never know.

FAME AT LAST!

Well, there's a thing. Just had it confirmed that I'm reading one of my stories out at Birmingham Central Library. It's for Writing West Midlands and their Short and Sweet Salon, hosted by Rachel New of the Heart FM breakfast show. I've got a seven minute open mike slot (in truth it'll be more like ten I think!) If you'd like to pop along and heckle it's on Tuesday 9th between 5:45 and 7:00 p.m. one floor down from ground level.
They recommend that you book tickets at Birmingham Rep Box office (although it's free). Look it up on line, I'm not sure of the number.
Also - I just applied to be an extra in a film as a zombie - yes I've had all the jokes about 'at least they'll save on make-up', thank you - it's shooting in Dudley of all places, with Glenn Close of all people.
I'll let you know how I get on with both.

Yeah, sorry! Meant to tell you but the Ipad and the blog page fell out, so I had to abandon blogging until I got back to my trusty old laptop.
So anyway, after Nasa it began to rain. And rain. And rain. We were going to Charleston - as you do - but that was rained off. Had a tornado quite close two days before flying back. I don't think it's stopped raining yet, much of Huston is now under water!
The pup found a new home - good job that - I seriously thought of bringing her home at one point. Well done to Kate's daughter, Sue, for rescuing her and no doubt saving her life. So the funny looking critter the kids called Lucky, I called Yoda and Sue called 'Will you stop shitting on the carpet', is now growing into a beautiful young puppy and has been re-named Demi.
Flew home - back to some good news. I sent my children's book (another one about Misty and her mates) off for appraisal before we went. It's come back with a few editorial suggestions and the advice that I should find a publisher/ agent - how good is that? I'd better go 'cos I'm working on that now - I'll let you know what happens.
